A new success has been added by the Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) Research Chair at King Saud University to the list of successive successes recently achieved by the medical research chairs in the university, where Dr. Mohamed A. Al-Omran, the assistant professor and consultant of vascular surgery and the Supervisor of PVD Research Chair at KSU, and Dr. Badr A. Al-Jabri, assistant professor and consultant of vascular surgery and Head of Vascular Surgery Unit at KSU, received appreciation awards from Her Excellency the Minister of Health in the State of Qatar, Dr. Alia Al Thani in appreciation for the outstanding scientific participation of the PVD research chair at King Saud University during the 3rd Gulf Conference for vascular surgeons, which was held from February 28 to March 1st, 2009 in Doha, Qatar.
The distinguished and active participation of the PVD Research Chair in the conference was manifested through the outstanding presentation of several scientific papers, studies and lectures that won the audience admiration from the Gulf States and visiting experts from Europe and the United States.
Among these lectures, a lecture entitled: "The experience of King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH) in the use Endovenous Laser Therapy of the Great Saphenous Vein in 300 patients" presented by Dr. Badr Al-Jabri. Another lecture entitled: "The role of PVD Research Chair in the reduction of risks associated with peripheral arterial disease and diabetic foot in GCC countries" was presented by Dr. Mohamed Al-Omran.
Dr. Badr Al-Jabri expressed his satisfaction for this achievement, which is a catalyst for further achievements on behalf of King Saud University. On the other hand, Dr. Mohamed Al-Omran expressed his joy for this achievement which can be added to the outstanding record of achievements of KSU in all of its development programs, especially the Research Chairs, under the keen administration of Prof. Abdullah Al-Othman, the University Rector.
